Suomenlinna and Linnanmäki

Back on the ferry to Suomenlinna, this time we were able to get off and explore. It is a group of 4 islands connected by bridges that is home to a decommissioned sea fortress.
At the Suomenlinna church.
Might as well use cannons as decoration.

Thankfully, we had our phones which have a light that allowed us to explore all the long tunnels and underground bunkers.

The only Finnish submarine that hasn't been taken apart.

My man

At kings gate, where they greeted royalty that arrived.

After walking all morning into the afternoon, we had two tired girls and one soon to be tired Daddy.
It was time for some lunch at cafe Chapman.
The salad bar, which was actually quite good.
Then we took the ferry back and caught a bus to Linnanmäki (an amusement park).  We had to walk a bit to get there, including under an overpass and were delighted to see artwork displayed. It's simply paintings on plywood, but so lovely. And here is where my story ends because I didn't take any more photos.  I leave it to Todd to tell of our adventures getting home
